Dailymotion TV App: End of Support on Smart TVs (2023 Update)
Dailymotion has officially ended support for its Smart TV apps. As of 2023, the platform no longer provides or updates Dailymotion TV apps for a wide range of devices, including Amazon Fire TV, Android TV, Apple TV, LG TV, Samsung TV, PlayStation, and Xbox (Windows).
If you've been using the Dailymotion TV app and wondering why it stopped receiving updates, this post explains what changed, what still works, and how to keep watching Dailymotion on your TV.
Which Platforms Lost Dailymotion Support?
Dailymotion discontinued its Smart TV app support for the following platforms:
- Amazon Fire TV
- Android TV
- Apple TV
- LG TV (webOS)
- Samsung TV (Tizen)
- PlayStation consoles
- Xbox (Windows)
These apps are no longer available for new downloads on official TV app stores, and they won't receive any further updates.
Can You Still Use the Dailymotion TV App?
Yes—but with caveats. If you already installed the Dailymotion TV app on your device before support ended, it will still launch and play content. However:
- No technical support is available
- No bug fixes or feature updates will be released
- The app may stop working entirely over time as platform updates roll out
In short, it works for now, but it's not a long-term solution.
How to Watch Dailymotion on Your TV Now
Dailymotion recommends two official alternatives for watching content on your TV:
- Chromecast: Cast Dailymotion from your phone, tablet, or computer browser directly to your TV.
- AirPlay: If you use an Apple device, stream Dailymotion to your Apple TV or AirPlay-compatible smart TV.
Both options let you keep watching Dailymotion on the big screen without relying on the discontinued TV app.
Where to Download the Dailymotion TV APK
If you still want to sideload the Dailymotion TV app on a compatible device, the APK is available here:

Note: Since Dailymotion no longer supports these apps, sideloaded versions may not work on all devices and won't receive updates.
