Force Proxy Usage on Fire TV — No Root Required

Standard

Fire TV devices don't support manual proxy configuration, which makes it nearly impossible to route traffic through a VPN or SOCKS proxy. But after tons of trial and error, I found a powerful workaround that forces proxy usage—even on Fire TV—with no root, no hacks, and no sketchy tools.

The Trick: You'll use your mobile device to host a SOCKS5 proxy, then force Fire TV to route traffic through it using a local VPN tunnel. It's a bit of a setup, but once it's running, it works flawlessly.

Problem: Fire TV Doesn't Support Proxy Settings

That's the wall most people hit. Fire TV won't let you manually enter proxy details, so even though your proxy is live, Fire TV ignores it.

Solution: Install NetGuard on Fire TV

The challenge with Fire TV is that most devices don't allow manual proxy configuration. NetGuard solves this problem.

  1. Install NetGuard on your Fire TV device
  2. Navigate to "Advanced Settings" within the app
  3. Enable "Filter Traffic" option
  4. Enter your mobile device's SOCKS5 proxy details
  5. Activate the local VPN feature

Boom—your Fire TV is now using your proxy.

**Important Compatibility Note:
Recent versions of NetGuard have disabled the "Filter Traffic" feature on Fire TV devices because Fire TV doesn't have Google Play Store billing system support. Solution: Install NetGuard version 2.67, which still includes full functionality: Download from APKMirror: NetGuard 2.67 or Downloader Code 4688942
